A Message from the President

Salutations and welcome to Top Ladies of Distinction, Inc. Nonpareil Chapter’s webpage. I am truly elated and enthused to share with you what’s happening in our Chapter.

After much planning and collaborating with the Area One Director Lady Hazel B. Webester the birth of nine Visionary Women, Founders were chartered on April 9, 1983. Those Lovely Ladies were Lady Isabel Herson, Lady Marion Jones, Lady Joyce Turnley, Lady Norma Peat, Lady Irma Poe, Lady Ida Gardner, Lady Anne Richardson, Lady Earless Hope, and our only living Founder, Lady Lois Brew. The National President was Lady Vivian R. Crawley.

Since the inception of Nonpareil Chapter, we are extremely proud of the hundreds of dedicated, hardworking Top Ladies and Top Teens who have been involved in the many numerous civic projects throughout the Baton Rouge Community as well as on the Area and National Level. We are also extremely proud of the support given to us by our Lords (spouses of Top Ladies).

Nonpareil strives to uphold TLOD’s purpose to educate, advocate and bring awareness to current issues that impact the well-being of people in our communities. TLOD has five specific objectives: The first and major programmatic thrust is Top Teens of America, second Status of Women, next Senior Citizen, Community Beautification, and our fifth thrust is Community Partnership. TLOD develops strategies that are incorporated through our programmatic thrusts and our five projects: National Council of Negro Women (NCNW), National Association for Advancement of Colored People (NAACP), United Negro College Fund (UNCF), Sickle Cell Awareness, and Literacy.
